Rhos Male Voice Choir got their 2018 programme underway with a rousing performance celebrating the birthday of the Saith Seren Welsh Centre in Wrexham.

The choir sang a wide range of favourites at the event, marking the centre’s sixth anniversary, and delighted the packed crowd.

Chris Evans, chair of Saith Seren, thanked the choir for their contribution, saying “We aim to celebrate and promote local and national Welsh culture, especially through music, and you are a perfect embodiment of this. You raised the roof with your powerful singing and it was one of the best evenings we’ve ever had in the centre, so thank you very much.”

Musical director James Llewelyn Jones said after the concert: “We felt very privileged to be asked to celebrate this milestone in the history of Saith Seren.”

He said: “There was a great audience who joined in with enthusiasm when called on in some old favourites.”

The choir’s next engagement sees them return to the Floral Pavillion in New Brighton on the 9th February in a charity concert for Age UK Wirral. And in March the choir head to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester as guests of the Manchester Welsh Society for their St David’s Day Concert .
